Kanto Freestyle Breakfast - New Menu

Kanto Freestyle Breakfast (KFB) was an instant hit when they opened new branches in Kapitolyo, Libis and Marikina early this year. The new locations provided diners in the said area a new place to eat delicious food 24x7. For those not familiar with the restaurant, Kanto Freestyle Breakfast is popular for their affordable gourmet breakfast meals. This restaurant is owned and operated by Chef Arch Juanta, currently chef de partie at Brentwood Hotel, New Zealand. He also worked as senior chef for M Cafe and Paseo Uno in Mandarin Hotel Manila, and corporate chef for other big food establishments, so expect nothing but extraordinary food from this restaurant. Last weekend, I invited some friends to try out the new dishes on the menu of KFB.

Drinks
Drinks | Less than Php 100.00 each

KFB has a new set of coffee based drinks namely (from left to right): Caramel Frappe, Mocha Frappe, Iced Latte, Iced Caramel Macchiato and Iced Choco. All new drinks had a sweet taste except for Iced Latte. I highly recommend the Iced Caramel Macchiato and Caramel Frappe of the new drinks.

Grilled Buttered Suman with Ube, White Chocolate and Goya Ganache
Grilled Buttered Suman with Ube, White Chocolate and Goya Ganache | Php 65.00

Suman is one of the all time favorite Filipino breakfast or snack and best eaten with sprinkled sugar. To give a little twist to this rice cake, Chef Arch added a bit of ube, white chocolate and goya ganache. Enjoy the Grilled Buttered Suman with Ube, White Chocolate and Goya Ganache while it is hot.

Toasted Ensaymada, Spanish Bread, and Pan de Regla with Creme Anglaise
Toasted Ensaymada, Spanish Bread, and Pan de Regla with Creme Anglaise | Php 75.00

Ensaymada and Spanish Bread are two of my favorite breads but I usually eat them separately. KFB combined these breads with another pan, added a cream sauce and came up with Toasted Ensaymada, Spanish Bread and Pan de Regla with Creme Anglaise.

Open Face Longganisa with Caramelized Onion
Open Face Longganisa with Caramelized Onion | Php 95.00

Ham, chicken, tuna, hot dog and sausage are some of the common stuffing for sandwiches. I never realized that using longganisa would also be possible. Open Face Longganisa with Caramelized Onion surely appealed to my taste buds. The Hollandaise sauce gives a contrast to the sweet longganisa creating a unique blend of taste.

Croque Monsieur
Croque Monsieur | Php 85.00

Croque Madame
Croque Madame | Php 85.00

The last two sandwiches are identical except for the topping aside from the ham filling. Croque Monsieur is topped with halved tomatoes while Croque Madame is topped with poached egg. Bechamel sauce is also as added as topping for both sandwiches. If you use a little more of imagination, you will understand why both sandwiches were named such.

Ube White Chocolate Ganache Pancake
Ube White Chocolate Ganache Pancake | Php 95.00

We were only able to try one of the new pancakes but the Ube White Chocolate Pancake was surely more than my expectation. I would try the Choco Chip Pancake and Goya Chocnut Ganache Pancake when I get the chance to come back here on in the other branches.

Bacon Congee with Poached Egg
Bacon Congee with Poached Egg | Php 85.00

Last dish for the day was the Bacon Congee with Poached Egg. It maybe was the last food we had, but I definitely give thumbs up for this new item on the menu. I emptied the bowl of congee to my hearts's content.

Overall, the new dishes are really good considering that everything is still less than Php 100. I personally recommend the Suman, Longganisa Sandwich, Croque Madame and the Bacon Congee. Also new in the menu are the two other pancakes I mentioned previously, Arroz ala Cubana and New Zealand Tapa, which I hope to try on my next visit.
