I wanted to visit Baguio City early this year to feel the chilly weather. It was a good thing I held back and waited for the Baguio Food Tour 2014. I certainly did not expect that we would be staying in such a beautiful hotel and was surprised when we checked in at Azalea Residences. The ambiance was different. It was very homey and cozy.
The staff welcomed us with a pleasant smiles. The spacious lobby has a ceiling that extends all the way to the top floor. This modern architecture actually lets abundant natural light come through the glass walls. It is economical and practical at the same time. It also gives a certain comfort of not feeling confined.
2 Bedroom Suite with Sofa Bed, Small Room and Toilet & Bath
Our suite has two bedrooms and a sofa bed. It also has a dining and kitchen area. I would willingly cook for the group during our 2-night stay had not this been a food tour. The kitchen is complete with appliances, including an induction stove, an oven and a small fridge. It was like I was in my own home.
The regular room had a mounted television and really looked cozy and comfortable. The common toilet and bath was spacious. This is the last part I usually look in hotels, but I was really impressed. The view from our veranda shows the quiet neighborhood, as the hotel is tucked in a partly secluded area of the city. It is a home away from home!
Master's Bedroom for 2-Bedroom Suite with Toilet & Bath
If the regular room was cozy, the master's bedroom was so much more. Sleeping is the least thing I do in hotels, but the bed was so inviting I had to snuggle myself. Well, that was before Utazo sneaked himself into the bed before I can. It had its own toilet and bath, complete with toiletries and a rain shower. I took a much deserved nap to recharge myself for the next activity.
Azalea Residences Facade
Azalea Residences is located in Leonard Wood Loop, across Teachers' Camp and approximately 10-15 minutes from tourist attractions that includes Wright Park, Camp John Hay and Mines View Park. The hotel is hidden from the busy streets of Baguio City, but still accessible to public transportations. The design of a facade resembles a log cabin similar to the ski resorts I see on the television.
There are one hundred modern luxury suites to choose from for a comfortable stay: 46 deluxe hotel rooms, 17 one-bedroom suites, 33 two-bedroom suites, 3 three-bedroom suites and 1 presidential suite. We were given a chance to look the other rooms the following day as most of the rooms are occupied. All suites have a dining table and a well-equipped kitchen. Suites with multiple rooms have a television set in each room aside from the living area and a separate toilet and bath in the master's bedroom.
Azalea Residences prides itself in customizing the stay of their guests. They make it a point to consider what will make their guest comfortable and what they may need while in Baguio. This 1-bedroom suite is designed to cater a group of up to 4 people or a small family. Cribs are also available upon request.
The 2-bedroom suite is a great choice for groups that want to bond together. It can accommodate 4-6 persons.
Azalea also customizes their room for couples. This is part of their personalized service.
Presidential Suite Gallery
The Presidential Suite is the grandest of all the rooms. It has two levels with three rooms on the second floor. The first level has a spacious living room with a virtual fireplace, a large dining area, a kitchen and a common toilet and bath. This suite is a close replicate of log cabins found in the summer homes in Baguio City owned by affluent families. The interiors are simple yet elegant. The most famous personality who had stayed here is Kris Aquino no less.
Tradisyon Pinoy (left) and 8-Degrees Lounge Bar (right)
Azalea has their in-house restaurant called Tradisyon Pinoy that is open at 6:00AM to 10:00PM at the ground level. 8-Degrees Lounge bar is also located in the ground level adjacent to the hotel lobby.
Room Rates, Peak Seasons include Panagbenga week, Holy Week, Christmas and New Year and long Holidays
Our stay in Azalea Residences was very much needed. It was a perfect place to rest our souls during the Baguio Food Tour 2014. If you are heading up to Baguio City, make sure you consider Azalea Residences as your choice to experience world-class rooms and amenities with the best personalized service a hotel can offer.
